The Unluckys

Vlaustin, English, Prestia, Greene and Elliott all missed a few too many games to make the teams. Jack Macrae probably the unluckiest of all who were not injured. Other unlucky players who played a fullish season were: Darcy Moore, Alex Pearce, Sam De Koning, Tom McCartin, Sam Docherty, Liam Baker, Mitch Duncan, Jack Crisp, Luke Breust and Izak Rankine. Best Player: Marcus Bontempelli

Now this is not who I think will win the brownlow but who I thought was the best player this season and it will come as a shock to many. Marcus Bontempelli in a down year where he started injured and was played as a forward out of necessity, still was the best player in the comp. Amongst mids, Bontempelli ranks 2nd for Score Involvements, 4th for inside 50s with a 46% contested possession rate. What is amazing about Bont though is how many metres he gains, from his contested possession rate and the efficiency at which he does so at. No other player in history has that level of poise and ability to go forward, not even Pendlebury. He is also easily the best marking mid in the game leading mids in contested marks. It is crazy how little he is appreciated. My best defender would be Jeremy Howe and the best forward is a tie between the two-headed dragon in Hawkins and Cameron.

Rising Star: Sam De Koning

This has been one of the strongest rising start years in some time, with an incredible top 5 in Sam De Koning, Nick Daicos, Jai Newcombe, Nic Martin and Jack Ginnivan. Sam De Koning though is the easy winner in my eyes as he is already one of the best 1v1 defenders in the comp and a great interceptor.

5: Sam De Koning

4: Jai Newcombe

3: Nick Daicos

2: Nic Martin

1: Jack Ginnivan

The AFL Finals Preview

8 - Brisbane Brisbane should be better than they are, but they are not. While I believe they are a good chance of beating Richmond tonight, they play the MCG terribly and they will have to face either

2022 Season Review - Port Adelaide

Welcome to the 8th season review for the 2022 AFL Season, this time for the Port Adelaide power. It was a disappointing year but a fair few tipped them to miss finals but it was far from doom and gloo
